This doctoral research focuses on enhancing the sustainability of timber constructionthrough Design for Disassembly and Adaptability (DfD/A), maximizing material reuse, andminimizing reliance on virgin resources. By integrating circular economy principles, thisstudy seeks to develop guidelines that promote efficient timber use in both developed anddeveloping countries.
Main objectives:
-
Identify key features and barriers to the adoption of DfD/A techniques and propose strategiesto enhance their implementation.
-
Develop innovative solutions that applies DfD/A principals using reclaimed wood waste.
-
Compare the implementation of DfD/A principles in developed and developing countries toenhance sustainable construction practices.
