Prosper Dzidzienyo: Traceability towards digital product passports - A case study in the man-made cellulosic textile industry

This project focuses on digital transformations in early-stage supply chain decision making, particularly in sustainability and commercialization. It investigates the theoretical, technical and economic dimensions of traceability, with a focus on digital product passports using a systems thinking approach. 

The projects first develops a set of indicators for product level traceability by applying maturity model theory and information quality frameworks to develop a Traceability Degree Score (TDS). This framework conceptualises traceability as a graduated, multidimensional construct rooted in data standardisation, process automation, measurement reliability and blockchain readiness each assessed on a five-point maturity scale.

It then evaluates the impact of product level traceability in the textile sector using a systems dynamics simulation approach. The findings from this work will guide the textile sector in assessing the effectiveness of product traceability systems in sustainability governance and resource management.
