Aalto community members awarded at the opening of the academic year
At the academic year’s opening ceremony, CIMANET - together with the Q-DOC and AI-DOC Doctoral Education Pilots and the Ellis Institute Finland - received the 2025 Aalto Research Impact Award. The recognition highlights their ability to unite people, fields, and disciplines in innovative and impactful ways.
The Ministry of Education and Culture’s additional funding for the doctoral training pilot responds to the growing need for researchers. Researchers and service personnel collaborated across Aalto and with other universities and organisations, significantly raising the profile of doctoral education. The joint effort drew strong interest, with more than 4,000 applicants for 178 doctoral positions at Aalto.
